Tiel McCoy's much needed vacation is put on hold when she hears from her boss that the teen daughter of a rich oil magnate has run away with her boyfriend. In desperation, the boy holds up a convenience store with about a half dozen customers. The girl is pregnant and goes into labor. Her rich father has sworn to dissolve her relationship and take the baby from her. What follows in Standoff is a tension-filled - cannot put the book down - story. I can't imagine anyone not liking this story, especially when a surprise is thrown in from time-to-time.
