Thirteen-year-old beekeeper and genius extraordinaire Allegra Gardner hires Mary DiNunzio, new partner in the law firm, Rosato & Associates, to represent her regarding the murder of her sister six years ago. Allegra is convinced that the man imprisoned for murder is innocent. Allegra wants an investigation into the case, proving the innocent of the accused, and aiding in the discovery of the true murderer.
On a personal level, Mary's boyfriend Anthony asks her to marry him. Although she is not quite sure she is ready for that type of commitment, she accepts. After all, she just became partner, which, along with her caseload, is about all the change she needs for now.
Accused by Lisa Scottoline is fast-moving, with surprising twists. Also, I laughed out loud more than once while reading this book. I absolutely loved Mary's rather rambunctious Italian family. I am definitely looking forward to the next in the Rosato & DiNunzio series. As I requested the ARC of Book 7, Feared, for review, I decided to begin this series from the start with this book. I am quite happy that I did so. Not only have I already purchased the rest of this series, I purchased the first in the prior series, Rosato & Associates.
Part of my rating is due to the fact that I listened to the audio version of this book and that the narrator, January LaVoy, is one of my favorites.
